The immortal characters of Gupi Gayne and Bagha Bayne, created by Upendrakishore Roychowdhury was given life in celluloid from the books. We in our newest production aim to visit the present socio-economic-political scenario of the country through the eyes of Gupi-Bagha.
A nation is built by its farmers, labours and teachers. SATYABACHAN, speaks their word, tell their stories. The farmer is burdened with loans and policies of the government. The workman is troubled with the double standards of the union and the business owners. The teacher has a sarcastic view towards the entire education system and the intentions of the society to remain oblivious.
On the other side of the world, the thoughts of the city dwellers are jeopardised in keeping balance between the fast moving socio-cultural-political environment. People are not ready to give time and space to their relations and thoughts. The neo-sci-fi generation is also falling victim to superstitions and prejudice.
Gupi-Bagha along with the Teacher faces the Government aka “Sarkar”, directly. The Sarkar is in distraught and takes resort to muscle power to arrest the protagonists.
Gupi-Bagha prays to Bhooter Raja for a solution. And to the respite of all, Bhooter Raja showers his blessings and life of common people fills up with bliss.
