- The action of the play is set in a neurological institution where physicians cum scientist Dr. Haromohan Sengupta tries to help patients suffering from a variety of issues and symptoms to find their way back into happiness. Dr. Shiuli De, a psychiatrist, comes there for case studies for her research. She is in search of psychiatric treatment which can make these patients back to their normalcy.
- The current human condition is such that the sense of intuition and the sense of feeling have drifted from conscious into the subconscious, and so humans connect to the environment only via their sense of thought and this sense is labelled as ‘me’.
- The play strikes through the themes of identity, artistry, and mortality that run throughout its journey. The play’s central character, Mrinmoy, is grappling with his own sense of self as he faces the end of his life, and his struggle resonates with all of us who have wondered about our own place in the world and what we will leave behind.
- As the story unfolds, we see how Mrinmoy’s own art blurs the lines between fact and fiction. Another key aspect of this play is the exploration of relationships, both romantic and familial. As we witness Mirnmoy’s interactions with those around him, we come to understand the nuances of the human psyche and the complex web of emotions that connect us all.
