- Emperor Samudragupta has established his new capital at Ayodhya. His ‘Brahmanical’ state machinery is running smoothly. There, the slave market is witnessing its pomp. One day, a slave called Gohil was brought into this market, and General Hayagrib bought him for a handsome price. Suddenly, Gohil’s childhood companion, Indrani, has emerged in the scenario and arrogantly argued for Gohil’s freedom. Hayagrib has emancipated Gohil but, in return, captured Indrani at his place. So, his Guru Kalhana visits the royal court in person and appeals to the monarch for Indrani’s emancipation. But with him, he has brought one of the most significant innovations of all time, which can dismantle the ancient political and religious order.
