- Existence equals to crisis. Whoever or whatever we are, a crisis always looms large in our lives. It is a constant shadow that we cannot pre-empt, nor do we have the power to control it. Interestingly, we do have a ‘choice’ in the way we address it. Inevitably our ‘choice’ is governed by our surroundings, our social and economic presence. If our ‘choice’ is the natural result of external influences, does it then remain a ‘choice’?
- Two women, socially and morally extracted of all ‘goodness’, come face to face with a ‘choice’ of fate that they never fathomed; a ‘choice’ that talks more about the decay and degeneration of our society and of us; a ‘choice’ that lays bare the truth behind the shinning veil of existence.
- ‘Mritasauch’, an interpretation of Albert Camu’s ‘La Malatunde’ (The Misunderstanding), is written by the celebrated playwright, Shree Torit Mitra. Directed by his student, Sashi Guha, the play is a first from the theatre group, Rashbehari Sanketik.
- Mritasauch has been liked by audiences across age and intellect for its powerful social call out, strong performances and impressive direction.
