- The rivalry of two village zamindars had led to the establishment of “Manmoyee Girls’ School”. Initially, no teacher could be found so, the founder zamindar’s wife started taking classes. The girls began to learn housekeeping, cleaning pots and pans, art of cooking. But there was need of graduate teachers. The school secretary had an eye on the zamindar’s daughter. In case a bachelor teacher too develops a similar interest, an advertisement was published asking for applications from married graduate couples. When there was hardly any response and all hopes lost, things took an interesting turn. An unemployed young man along with a woman, in search of a job, paired up as a married couple in disguise and tendered an application! The zamindar couldn’t ask for more. His going overboard while offering hospitality to the couple was so embarrassing that the lady teacher decided to quit. It was a bolt from the blue for the zamindar and the secretary too sensed trouble. The secretary suspected the male teacher’s soft corner for the daughter of the zamindar and anticipated he too would leave the job. That would ensure fair ground for him. Before the lady teacher could leave, the zamindar’s wife and the school secretary tried to change the situation with their own plans. A new chapter of love stories followed ……
