A brave Scottish general named Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself. He is then wracked with guilt and paranoia. Forced to commit more and more murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion, he soon becomes a tyrannical ruler. The bloodbath and consequent civil war swiftly take Macbeth and Lady Macbeth into the realms of madness and death. Through this play Shakespeare tries to show the crisis of the society, the dramatic question in this play is basically our crisis in the society. So this play is still now relevant after few centuries. It’s not only the inner crisis or devilish approach of a single person, it’s a crisis of the power dame and its crime in our society happening all the time. The political condition have changed a lot but the power game and the approach or crisis remain the same in our society. So for this reason Macbeth is still now relevant in this age of time.
