An inevitable chapter from history. The years 1884 to 1899. May be it all began much earlier and continues to this day. The iconic character, Dr. Mahendralal Sarkar, steadfast in his ideals and never shy of speaking his mind, dreams of founding a “ Science Association”. Women would embrace the medical profession and take care of their own illnesses. He refuses to examine his patients free of charge and spares no word to remind that. This man cuts a sorry figure as his dreams get shattered. He meets Ramakrishna Paramahansa and a transformation takes over. The play “The Unsaid” tries to chronicle a few chapters from the story of this transformation. Just when memory betrays the past; some contemporary characters, their untold stories both real and imaginary help to kindle hope and inspiration. This production attempts to find light at the end of a dark tunnel.
